Collection: Video Store Movie Posters

Discover our collection of original video store movie posters and vintage VHS promotional posters produced for video rental shops during the golden age of home entertainment. Unlike theatrical cinema posters, these authentic video shop advertising prints were created specifically to promote home-video releases, often featuring alternative artwork, distinctive designs and promotional imagery not used in the original cinema campaigns.

All posters are genuine original promotional prints sourced from video rental stores, distributors and private collections — never modern reproductions.

Collecting Original VHS and Video Store Posters

During the 1980s and 1990s, video rental shops became an important part of film culture. Distributors produced dedicated posters and promotional displays to advertise new VHS releases, helping customers discover everything from Hollywood blockbusters to low-budget horror, action films and cult favourites.

Video store posters frequently featured artwork that differed from the original theatrical campaigns. Revised taglines, striking illustrations, alternative photography and bold promotional designs helped films stand out in crowded rental shops.

Why Collect Video Rental Posters?

Original video store movie posters are increasingly appreciated for their nostalgia, distinctive artwork and connection to the golden age of home entertainment. Many were produced for temporary promotional use and discarded once a film's rental campaign ended, making surviving examples an interesting part of movie-poster collecting.

Our collection includes authentic VHS-era promotional posters spanning horror, science fiction, action, thrillers and cult cinema, particularly from the 1980s and 1990s.

All posters are securely packaged and guaranteed original.
