Directed by Bob Fosse, Cabaret is the acclaimed 1972 American musical drama starring Liza Minnelli, Michael York, Joel Grey and Marisa Berenson.

Set in Berlin during the final years of the Weimar Republic, the film follows American cabaret performer Sally Bowles, played by Liza Minnelli, as she navigates romance, ambition and the increasingly turbulent political atmosphere of early-1930s Germany.

Michael York stars as Brian Roberts, a young British academic who becomes involved with Sally, while Joel Grey delivers a memorable performance as the enigmatic Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub.

The supporting cast includes Helmut Griem, Marisa Berenson and Fritz Wepper.

Based on the stage musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff, itself inspired by Christopher Isherwood's Berlin stories, Cabaret combines musical performance with a powerful examination of society during the rise of Nazism.

The film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Director for Bob Fosse, Best Actress for Liza Minnelli and Best Supporting Actor for Joel Grey.

This original 1978 Italian re-release poster features a striking composition dominated by Liza Minnelli in her iconic Sally Bowles costume, standing beside a chair against a backdrop of Berlin imagery.

Produced in the impressive Italian 4-Fogli format, the poster consists of two separate printed sections designed to overlap when displayed.

An appealing piece of original cinema memorabilia for collectors of Liza Minnelli, Bob Fosse, classic Hollywood musicals and vintage Italian theatrical posters.
