Directed by Robert Aldrich, Emperor of the North (also known as Emperor of the North Pole) is a gritty 1973 American action adventure set during the Great Depression, starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine and Keith Carradine.

Lee Marvin plays A No. 1, a legendary railway hobo determined to ride a freight train operated by Shack, a ruthless conductor played by Ernest Borgnine, who will stop at nothing to prevent anyone travelling aboard his train without permission.

Keith Carradine stars as Cigaret, an inexperienced young drifter who becomes caught up in the increasingly dangerous confrontation between the two men.

The supporting cast includes Charles Tyner, Malcolm Atterbury, Harry Caesar and Simon Oakland.

Combining hard-edged action, Depression-era atmosphere and memorable performances, Emperor of the North has developed a following among admirers of Robert Aldrich's uncompromising filmmaking.

This original Italian theatrical poster was produced in the impressive 4-Fogli format, traditionally printed in two separate sections designed to overlap when displayed. Measuring approximately 140 x 198 cm, it offers a substantial display size and a distinctive example of Italian cinema advertising.

An appealing piece of original 1970s cinema memorabilia for collectors of Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, classic American action films and large-format Italian movie posters.
