An authentic 1953 Russian release poster for Ludas Matyi, the acclaimed 1950 Hungarian romantic melodrama directed by Laszlo Ranody and Kalman Nadasdy, distributed in America as "Goose Boy." This original theatrical poster measures 23¼" x 31¾" (59 x 81 cm) and bears the distinctive artwork of Grebenshikov. The film, adapted from Mikhaly Fazekas's novel, features Imre Soos, Erzsi Partos, Teri Horvath, Gyorgy Solthy, Eva Ruttkai, and Manyi Kiss—and represents Hungary's pioneering venture into colour cinematography. The poster exhibits authentic period wear: creasing and tears around the border, a minor tear on the character's face on the left side, and pin holes from theatrical display. Now stored flat for years; will arrive rolled in protective tubing.
