Originally released in 1978 under the title Day of the Woman, I Spit on Your Grave became one of the most controversial American exploitation horror films of its era.

The film follows Jennifer Hills, played by Camille Keaton, a writer who retreats to a rural cottage, where she becomes the victim of a brutal assault. The story subsequently follows her pursuit of revenge against her attackers.

Written and directed by Meir Zarchi, the film became notorious for its graphic subject matter and uncompromising approach to revenge horror. Its controversial reputation led to censorship disputes and its association with Britain's video nasty era.

The film received a wider American theatrical release in 1980 under the title I Spit on Your Grave, becoming a recognised example of late-1970s exploitation cinema.

This original US One Sheet represents the film's theatrical advertising under its better-known title, making it a distinctive piece of American horror and exploitation cinema history.
