I Wanna Hold Your Hand is Robert Zemeckis' 1978 comedy set against the excitement surrounding The Beatles' first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the film stars Nancy Allen, Bobby Di Cicco, Marc McClure, Susan Kendall Newman, Theresa Saldana and Wendie Jo Sperber.

The story follows a group of teenagers determined to see The Beatles during their first visit to New York, combining period nostalgia, music and comedy against the backdrop of Beatlemania.

Sharing the bill is American Hot Wax, Floyd Mutrux's 1978 music drama inspired by pioneering disc jockey Alan Freed and the early years of rock 'n' roll.

Tim McIntire stars as Freed, with a cast including Laraine Newman, Jay Leno and Fran Drescher, alongside appearances by rock 'n' roll performers Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

This original British Quad brings together two 1978 films celebrating defining moments in popular music history.
