Directed by Hugh A. Robertson, Melinda is a 1972 American blaxploitation action thriller starring Calvin Lockhart, Rosalind Cash and Vonetta McGee.
Calvin Lockhart plays Frankie J. Parker, a successful disc jockey whose life becomes entangled in a dangerous criminal conspiracy following his relationship with the mysterious Melinda, played by Vonetta McGee.
When Melinda is murdered, Frankie finds himself caught up in a violent struggle involving organised crime, corruption and revenge.
The supporting cast includes Rosalind Cash, Paul Stevens and Rockne Tarkington.
Combining elements of crime drama, action and martial arts cinema, Melinda was released during the early years of the blaxploitation movement, alongside other influential African-American genre films of the period.
The film is also notable for its martial arts sequences, reflecting the growing popularity of kung fu cinema during the early 1970s.
This original Italian theatrical poster features striking illustrated artwork dominated by a portrait of Calvin Lockhart in a martial arts pose, accompanied by a smaller female figure.
The Italian promotional tagline references Chinese kung fu cinema, emphasising the film's action and martial arts elements.
Produced in the large Italian 4-Fogli format, the poster consists of two printed sections designed to overlap when displayed.
An unusual piece of original 1970s cinema memorabilia for collectors of blaxploitation films, martial arts cinema and vintage Italian movie poster artwork.
