Midnight Express is Alan Parker's acclaimed 1978 prison drama based on the experiences of Billy Hayes, an American student imprisoned in Turkey after attempting to smuggle drugs out of the country.

Written for the screen by Oliver Stone, the film stars Brad Davis as Billy Hayes, alongside Irene Miracle, John Hurt, Bo Hopkins, Randy Quaid and Paul L. Smith. The film received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won for Oliver Stone's screenplay and Giorgio Moroder's score.

Sharing the bill is McVicar, the 1980 British crime drama directed by Tom Clegg and based on the life of convicted armed robber John McVicar.

Roger Daltrey stars as McVicar, alongside Adam Faith, Steven Berkoff and Cheryl Campbell. The film follows McVicar's imprisonment, escape from Durham Prison and subsequent life on the run.

An unusual British double-bill Quad pairing two hard-edged prison and crime films, with Midnight Express and McVicar presented together for UK cinema audiences.
