Directed by Mark Rydell and based on Ernest Thompson's play, On Golden Pond is the acclaimed 1981 drama starring Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda, alongside Doug McKeon and Dabney Coleman.

Henry Fonda plays retired professor Norman Thayer, who spends the summer at the family's lakeside home with his wife Ethel, played by Katharine Hepburn. The arrival of their daughter Chelsea, played by Jane Fonda, brings long-standing tensions between father and daughter to the surface, while Norman develops an unexpected friendship with Chelsea's prospective stepson.

The film marked the only screen appearance together of Henry Fonda and his daughter Jane Fonda and became Henry Fonda's final feature-film role.

On Golden Pond received ten Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Henry Fonda won Best Actor, Katharine Hepburn won Best Actress and Ernest Thompson won Best Adapted Screenplay.
