Directed by John Farrow, Plunder of the Sun (1953) is an adventure thriller starring Glenn Ford, Diana Lynn, Patricia Medina, Francis L. Sullivan and Sean McClory. Filmed on location in Mexico, the story follows an American who becomes caught up in a dangerous hunt for a valuable ancient Zapotec treasure.

Adapted from the novel by David Dodge, the film was produced by Robert Fellows and John Wayne through their production company Batjac Productions. Its combination of archaeological mystery, crime and exotic Mexican locations gives the film a classic 1950s adventure feel.
