That Tennessee Beat is a 1960s musical film celebrating the sounds and personalities of American country music, combining a fictional story with performances from established country entertainers.

The film features legendary guitarist and songwriter Merle Travis, whose distinctive fingerpicking technique influenced generations of country and rock musicians.

Also appearing is Minnie Pearl, one of the best-known personalities associated with the Grand Ole Opry and American country entertainment.

Directed by Richard Brill, the film captures the popularity of Nashville's country music scene during the mid-1960s, when the genre was reaching an increasingly wide audience.

This original US One Sheet features colourful vintage artwork, combining photographic images of the performers with bold yellow, orange and black typography.

The design reflects the distinctive promotional style of American musical films during the 1960s, with particular emphasis on the performers and the film's country music identity.
