Directed by Lee Sholem, The Stand at Apache River is a 1953 Technicolor Western starring Stephen McNally, Julie Adams, Hugh Marlowe, Hugh O'Brian, Jaclynne Greene, Jack Kelly and Russell Johnson.

Set at an isolated stagecoach station in Arizona, the film follows a group of travellers who find themselves trapped when the station comes under attack. Sheriff Lane Dakota, played by Stephen McNally, must try to protect the group while also guarding a dangerous prisoner.

Produced by Universal-International and based on Robert J. Hogan's novel Apache Landing, the film is a compact 1950s Western built around the siege of the remote frontier outpost.

The cast includes Julie Adams shortly before her celebrated appearance in Creature from the Black Lagoon, alongside Hugh O'Brian, who would soon become widely known for his starring role in the television series The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.
