An original 1969 Italian Locandina movie poster for The Subject Was Roses.

This is a genuine theatrical-release poster, printed for the film's first Italian cinema release.

Format: Italian Locandina
Size: 13 x 27½ inches (33 x 70 cm)

Condition: Edge wear with small tears and creasing. Pin holes are present, and a number has been perforated through the credits at the bottom right. Folded.

Directed by Ulu Grosbard, The Subject Was Roses (1968) is a family drama adapted from Frank D. Gilroy's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The film stars Patricia Neal, Jack Albertson and Martin Sheen, alongside Don Saxon and Grant Gordon, and centres on a young man's return home and the troubled relationship between his parents.

Jack Albertson won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance, while Patricia Neal received a nomination for Best Actress. The film also marked Martin Sheen's first major feature-film role.

Released in Italy in 1969, this original Italian Locandina is an appealing piece for collectors of Oscar-winning cinema, 1960s drama and original Italian theatrical posters.
