Directed by Lionel Jeffries and based on the novel by Charles Kingsley, The Water Babies is a 1978 family fantasy adventure combining live action and animation.

Tommy Pender stars as Tom, a young chimney sweep who escapes from his cruel master and finds himself transported into a magical underwater world. The film features James Mason, Billie Whitelaw, Bernard Cribbins, Joan Greenwood and David Tomlinson, with additional voice performances including Jon Pertwee and David Jason.

The Water Babies combines traditional British children's fantasy with colourful animated sequences and a musical soundtrack by Phil Coulter, with lyrics by Bill Martin.

This original British Quad is the soundtrack-snipe variant, with an additional promotional panel applied at the bottom right of the poster.
