Directed by Fred F. Sears, The World Was His Jury is a 1958 American courtroom drama starring Edmond O'Brien, Mona Freeman, Karin Booth, Robert McQueeney and Paul Birch.

Robert McQueeney plays Jerry Barrett, an officer who assumes command of a passenger liner after its captain dies during a voyage to New York. When a devastating fire aboard the ship results in the deaths of 162 passengers, Barrett is charged with criminal negligence.

Edmond O'Brien stars as defence attorney David Carson, who takes on Barrett's seemingly hopeless case and begins to uncover evidence that there is considerably more behind the disaster than initially appears.

Released by Columbia Pictures and written by Herbert Abbott Spiro, the film combines courtroom drama, crime and maritime disaster elements.
